Washington’s public universities require a minimum set of high school courses for admission. These requirements (also known as CADRs) help ensure students are academically prepared to succeed in their postsecondary education and reach their long-term goals.

Each school district determines which of its courses align with university admissions guidelines. Washington’s public universities determine the courses for admissions purposes. Because high school graduation requirements may differ from university admissions requirements, students should work with their guidance counselors and universities to ensure their coursework satisfies both—and keeps them on track to graduate and qualify for admission.
